Updated Family Care and Medical Leave and Pregnancy Disability Posters
Who:
California Employers With 20+ Employees for the New Parent Leave Act (NPLA)
California Employers with 50+ Employees for the California Family Rights Act (CFRA)
When: April 1, 2019
What:
Under California’s New Parent Leave Act, most employers need to display an updated mandatory poster. The NPLA provides 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected parental bonding leave. The Family Care and Medical Leave (CFRA Leave) and Pregnancy Disability Leave notice poster is now the Family Care and Medical Leave and Pregnancy Disability Leave poster and contains information on the NPLA. A medical certification form has also been updated to address removing gender pronouns.
How:
If you’re an employer with at least 20 employees, display the following poster in your workplace. Employers with 50 or more employees will need to update the CFRA certification form. If more than 10% of your workforce speaks a language other than English, you must post the revised Family Care and Medical Leave and Pregnancy Disability Leave poster in that language. KPA’s HR software has the updated poster and CFRA certification form.
